Martin takes Season Opener @ 34 Raceway

(Bill W) April 3, 2016 – Eighteen-year-old Chris Martin picked up his second career Shottenkirk.com Sprint Invaders event Sunday night at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. The Ankeny, Iowa driver led all 25 laps on his way to his first career victory at the 3/8-mile oval. While Martin shot out to an early lead from his starting spot on the pole of the main event, there was plenty of action behind him. Harold Pohren ran a strong second the first five circuits. At that point, Cody Wehrle would spin inside of turn two bringing the caution flag. On the restart, John Schulz shot from fourth to the runner-up position and began his pursuit of Martin. Jerrod Hull Opens Sprint Invaders Nationals Weekend With A Win At Donnellson Donnellson, Iowa (8/21/15) – It took three attempts at a start for the 25-lap main event and on that third try Jerrod Hull moved quickly from third to first and was never headed as the Sikeston, Missouri, driver opened the Shottenkirk.com Sprint Invaders Nationals weekend with a win at the Lee County Speedway Friday night. Bobby Mincer and Randy Martin would bring the twenty car starting field to green, but the caution would be needed soon after as Donnie Steward and Chris Martin tangled in turn two. Chris Martin Nails Down First Career Sprint Invaders Win in Bloomfield! (Bill W) Des Moines, IA, July 17, 2015 – Chris Martin drove to his first career win with the Shottenkirk.com Sprint Invaders at Bloomfield Speedway in Bloomfield, Iowa Friday night. Though the Ankeny, Iowa driver claimed a victory at Antioch Speedway in California early in his career, it had been over two years since he tasted victory in the Chris Martin Racing #44. Before a lap could be completed in the 20-lap feature event, Harold Pohren got upside down on the backstretch. He was uninjured. Nate Van Haaften, who had driven from eighth into the top five, and Corey Nelson suffered cut tires and exited as well.
